“We Build People” is tasked with raising funds to pay for summer camp scholarships and other services. http://www.ymcatriangle.org/Helping_Others/WeBuildPeople.aspx

The intent of this good works project is to improve upon their volunteer tracking system including volunteer effectiveness metrics. The project is slated to start in early May and ends no later than October 1. Meetings will take place in Raleigh during afternoon business hours, and the estimated commitment is 5 hours per month (not including travel time).

Project Leader Requirements: We are looking for an individual who has studied and demonstrated skill in implementation of improvement principles and techniques.  This individual should also able to provide input into the composition of improvement teams as well mentor team members.

Interested? Contact Good Works Chair Kevin Hopkins, mrvawn@hotmail.com.

Quality Survey

What Makes TQM Work?              https://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=880103396492

Please click on the link above to fill out a survey from Debbie Hill, an ASQ Raleigh section member, and PhD Candidate. The results will be made available to members later this year, which could then be utilized to improving your management of the quality transformation process. Of course with more respondents, the results will be better and more useful, so help make this report great!

Education News

Accolades from Six Sigma Black Belt Refresher Course Attendee

I just wanted to thank you for your dedication and willingness to prepare and present the Black Belt training for those of us who were students.  You all did a fine job presenting the subject matter and I really appreciate all the time and effort you put into these classes, and the evenings and Saturdays you gave up for us.

Again – many thanks for getting us prepared!  (Stephanie Ploeger)
