Gary Ward has been an educator for over 30 years in Military, Industry, and Academic Settings. He holds a Master of Science in Management (1998) and a Master of Education in Training and Development (1992), both from NC State University. He also has licenses and certifications that include Master Black Belt, Lean Certification, Project Manager Professional (PMP), Manager of Quality/OE from American Society for Quality. He was an NRC Licensed Senior Reactor Operator at Shearon Harris, completed three tours as a Navy Commanding Officer, and now serves in the Navy Reserve as a Project Liaison with Office of Naval Research in the rank of Commander.
Gary has special interest in Process Improvement, Organizational Transformation, Leadership, and Human Error Reduction.
Not only is Gary a family man, with three daughters who are all serving with the United States Coast Guard, Gary is committed to community service beyond his military service. His volunteer interests include five years as a leadership instructor at General Shelton Leadership Challenge at NC State University, Big Brother for BBBS of the Triangle, and Past President of the NC/SC Chapter of the CG Academy Parents Association.
