Six Sigma SIG Update

Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.

Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics.

Presenter:  Brian Zievis

Topic:   Analysis of Order to Cash Transactional Process

Presentation Summary:  Complex transactional processes cause waste in the form unnecessary over-processing, motion, and confusion. This waste results in reduced profitability and substantially decreased customer satisfaction. Defining and mapping the current state of a business process and the decision paths people actually follow for operating the process are key to measuring waste and developing a plan for the future state.

In this presentation we describe a six sigma project aimed at consolidating and optimizing customer contacts by decreasing the complexty of the transactional processes for the delivery and service of medical gas products.

Presenter Bios:    Brian Zievis is a Project manager of Re-Engineering at The Linde Group

Time: 5:30pm with 30 minutes of socializing and promptly begin the presentations at 6:00pm.  Typically we are finished between 7:00pm and 7:30pm depending on discussion and question time.
