Six Sigma SIG Update

Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.

Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics.  Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Presentation Title:  Measurement System:  Is Yours Good Enough?

Presentation Summary: If measurements are used to guide decisions, then it follows logically that the more error there are in the measurements, the more error there will be in the decisions based on those measurements.  Data obtained by any measurement system contains two primary types of variation, that caused by the process and that caused by the measurement system.  All too often our data is used to make decisions about our processes without regard for the variation in our measurement systems.  in this session we will discuss factors affecting a measurement system and then demonstrate those factors using a Statapult simulation.
