Six Sigma SIG Update

Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.

Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics.  Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Presentation Title:   “Making Lean Six Sigma User-Friendly (Case of a Quality Practitioner in Public Health)”

Presentation Summary:  Public Health agencies are the epitome of “do more with less!” Experience deploying Lean Six Sigma in an environment that is not traditionally known for such initiatives. Challenges such as working in a Public (Government) agency where calls to improve the bottom line is not an applicable rallying call to action (this is in sharp contrast to Private organizations where P&L levels hold sway). How then can Lean Six Sigma methodology be used to assist Public agencies that are continually facing dwindling resources such as funding cuts, personnel, etc?

 Presentation will entail:
– Lean Six Sigma (LSS) tools and techniques used.
– Audience participation in LSS workshop icebreaker: Interactive Spaghetti Diagram.
