Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.
Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics. Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Presenter: Jim Sponslor
Presenter Bio: Jim Sponslor has been a Quality Engineer at Plexus for 6 years. Has worked in the medical, industrial and commercial device industries for many of years. Currently works on medical devices being designed for the global market with focus on meeting FDA, HC (Health Canada) and the EU MDD regulatory requirements.
Presentation Title: An Alternate Method for Selecting Sample Size
Presentation Summary: Jim Sponsler, a Quality Engineer at Plexus will be presenting a project case study from the medical device industry. Quality systems around release testing are critical to assure the safety identity strength quality and purity of any cGMP regulated product, but these release testing plans have a dark side. Test plans consume product, delay release times (tie up capital), and increase the cost of goods sold. Designing and maintaining a product specific test plan is critical for a products sustainable life cycle, balancing both quality and economic risk. In this talk Jim will present a case study on alternative methods for selecting verification sample sizes.

Time: 5:30pm with 30 minutes of socializing and promptly begin the presentations at 6:00pm. Typically we are finished between 7:00pm and 7:30pm depending on discussion and question time.
