Business Systems Analyst
The North Carolina Department of Revenue is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join their Case Management Unit in our Collection Division.
As a Business Systems Analyst you will be responsible and accountable for defining and documenting requirements for various services to establish business rules, criteria, and workflows for Collection Division cases. The position develops the criteria used to ensure cases move through the collection process using strategies developed by division management and the Case Management Unit. The position defines, creates, and maintains complex business rules; data models used for risk/yield scoring, and ad-hoc queries/reports using development and query tools such as Access, Excel, SQL and SAS Enterprise Guide. The position analyzes, tests, and implements strategies to support business applications. The Business Systems Analyst works with both the public and private sector to negotiate data exchanges that provide resources used to enhance automation and provide data for manual research by Collection Division employees. This position reports to the Business & Information Systems Liaison/ Case Management Unit Manager and supports Collection Division tools and initiatives. Errors in the collection process could result in undue financial hardship for the taxpayer. Possible lawsuits and court sanctions may result. Public confidence as well as credibility of the Department and the State of North Carolina can be jeopardized through errors in judgment. Since any breach of this trust may result in substantial loss of revenue for the State of North Carolina, the Business Systems Analyst is held to a high standard of accountability due to the complex nature of the position.
