Six Sigma SIG Update
Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.
Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics. Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Presenter: Dr. Fang Zhou PhD.
Presenter Bio: Fang Zhou is a management consultant with 16 years of experience in R&D, manufacturing, and process improvement in the life science industry. He received his Bachelor’s degree from Georgia Tech and Ph.D. from Yale. He is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Project Management Professional.
Presentation Title: Key Concepts from Edward Deming
Presentation Summary: .In the preface of his book Out of Crisis, Edwards Deming states “Anyone in management requires, for transformation, some rudimentary knowledge about science — in particular, something about the nature of variation and about operational definitions.” Three and half decades since the book was published, few people in management understand these concepts and use them in decision making. In this meeting, participants will revisit these power concepts and opportunities to influence management and teams to drive improvement.
Date: September 25, 2018
Time: 5:30pm with 30 minutes of socializing and promptly begin the presentations at 6:00pm. Typically we are finished between 7:00pm and 7:30pm depending on discussion and question time.
