Six Sigma SIG Update

Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.

Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics.  Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.

Presenter: Joseph Bastante

Presenter Bio: Joseph Bastante a Certified Six Sigma Black belt serving as Chief Technology Officer at BlueCross BlueShield of North Carolina. Through his more than 25 years of professional experience, Joseph has led and delivered change in large and highly matrixed organizations. His particular area of expertise driving organization and technology change in response to business strategic objectives.

Presentation Title:  Six Sigma Data Analysis in the Cloud–Overview of the Latest Cloud and Open Source Alternatives

Presentation Summary: Data analysis is a central component of the Six Sigma method. Many Six Sigma practitioners have been trained on tools such as Minitab to explore dataset features and conduct hypothesis testing. With the advent of major cloud vendors, new options have emerged providing full analytics platforms at no cost or low cost. In this session we’ll explore a number of the cloud and open source alternatives, all of which can be made fully available in just minutes.

Date:  March 26, 2019

Time: 5:30pm with 30 minutes of socializing and promptly begin the presentations at 6:00pm.  Typically we are finished between 7:00pm and 7:30pm depending on discussion and question time.
