Six Sigma SIG Update
Six Sigma SIG is our ASQ Raleigh Chapter’s special interest group that focuses on Six Sigma and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. In our meetings we showcase our members and special guest’s project work as well as tutorials on new and cutting edge quality tools.
Our meetings are very informal with a lot of question and answer time allowing us to delve deeply into some very interesting topics. Please be a part of our growing and interesting group. We look forward to seeing you at our next meeting.
No ASQ membership or Lean Six Sigma experience is required to attend.

Presenter: Fang Zhou
Presenter Bio: Fang Zhou is a certified Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt and Project Management Professional with experience in R&D, manufacturing, Quality, and management consulting. He received his Bachelor’s from Georgia Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. from Yale University.
Presentation Title: Process improvement starts with the right goal
Presentation Summary: In transactional processes (e.g. services and non-manufacturing), Lean Six Sigma projects often encounter difficulty because the problem and project goal are not properly defined. Attendees will participate in a mini-simulation exercise to collect data and discuss issues and best practices in defining effective project goals.
Date: September 24, 2019
Time: 5:30pm with 30 minutes of socializing and promptly begin the presentations at 6:00pm. Typically we are finished between 7:00pm and 7:30pm depending on discussion and question time.
